Duer Construction, Incorporated was formed in 1990.  The company consists of a father and son team of trained, seasoned professional builders:

 Duff Duer has extensive experience in the construction and home building industry.  During the past 35 years, he has been involved in such aspects as concrete work, heating and cooling, design, blueprinting, construction, and painting.  From 1994-1996 he served as Secretary of the Shoreline Builders’ Association.  He went on to serve as Vice-President from 1996- 1997, President from 1998-1999, and Past-President from 2000-2001.  The Shoreline Builders’ Association has 450 members from Muskegon/Ottawa/and Oceana Counties.  From 1994-1998, Duff Duer served on the committee for the Shoreline Builders’ Association Parade of Homes.

 Jim Duer got an early start in the construction business.  Following in his father’s footsteps, he helped his dad with various construction projects. He also started out by learning about concrete flatwork.  He then went on to Michigan State University and completed the construction management program.  During summer breaks from classes, he helped his dad with building homes.  Ever since then, he’s been at the forefront of the business with his father building quality homes.

There are 15 professional employees working for Duer Construction.  The company hires the most qualified, insured subcontractors from West Michigan.  The owners, employees, and subcontractors are always available at each job site to answer any questions customers may have.

Chamber of Commerce Award:  In 2004, Duer Construction received the “Brick Award” from Grand Haven/Ferrysburg/Spring Lake Chamber of Commerce.  The award was given for the company’s commitment in enhancing business and furthering the growth and prosperity of Northwest Ottawa County.

Construction Industry Awards:  In 2001, Duer Construction won three awards for “Best Exterior,”  “Best Kitchen,” and “Best Master Suite” in the Shoreline Builders’ Association’s annual Parade of Homes.  This was in the category of homes having 2,300 square feet or less.  In 2000, Duer Construction won two awards for “Best Exterior Design” and “Best Master Suite/Master Bath” in the Shoreline Parade of Homes same building category.
